Indoor Rock Climbing
Arizona is home to multiple rock climbing gyms across the valley! The prices vary depending on the gym you choose but day passes and specials are always happening at least one of them! Some gyms in the valley that have great reviews are, Ape Index, Blackrock Bouldering Gym, and Gecko Climbing Gym!
Lake Day
Just outside the city, the valley has multiple lakes that offer lots of fun recreation! Take a dip in the water and pack a picnic, rent a kayak and find a shady cove in Lake Pleasant or get some friends and rent a boat to spend the day on the lake swimming! Besides Lake Pleasant, there's also Lake Bartlett and Saguaro Lake that offer multiple options to cool off on a hot summer day and stay active!
Ice Skating
Phoenix has more ice skating rinks than you would expect for a desert! Grab some friends or family and go lace up! If you are a beginner, they have supports that can help you have fun while still staying with your group! There are rinks across the whole valley, from AZ Ice in Peoria, to the Ice Den in Chandler (AZ Ice also has locations in Gilbert and Arcadia).
Sedona Day Trip
Sedona is home to arguably some of the best views in the state and its only a short drive from Phoenix! Take a hike, hire a tour guide, or go eat and shop in their multiple shopping centers that offer everything from casual and fine dining to unique southwestern inspired art galleries.
Local Recreation Center
That's right! Your local rec center has tons of options to get you up and moving while staying cool! Indoor basketball, racquetball, clubs and different activities like swimming and movie nights! In the AZ there are multiple recreation centers across the entire valley. Deer Valley Rec Center, Rio Vista Rec Center, Sunnyslope Rec Center and Desert West Rec Center are just a few options to keep you active and entertained!
